Marie moved to Windsor, Ontario in 2005. She was born in the Netherlands in a very artistic family. In her late twenties, she immigrated from Amsterdam to Victoria, BC where she lived and worked for seventeen years before leaving for Windsor with her husband and two Siamese cats.

For as long as she can remember she has loved to draw and paint, which is no surprise given the fact that her family is very creative. For most of her life she has been involved in the art world and there is a history of painters, singers, musicians and dancers in her family.

Marie says:"my art is a gift from the universe ... mostly I just let it unfold without too much conscious control ... I am guided by my intuition and I love that". She feels totally at peace and in her element when she paints. Her art is unique and can be playful or more serious, like her abstract art. "There is unlimited potential in all of us and my creative outlet is my art" she says.
